This might be one of the biggest problems AI creates that we’re not talking about enough.
AI is getting surprisingly good at handling the tasks that used to be given to junior employees: basic research, formatting, simple analysis, documentation, and repetitive admin work.
But those tasks were never just “grunt work.” They were often how people learned how an industry actually works. You made small mistakes, fixed them, watched experienced coworkers, and slowly developed better judgment.
So what happens when those opportunities disappear?
If AI handles most of the early-stage work, where does the next generation get that hands-on experience?
Maybe companies will need to rethink how junior roles are structured. Instead of removing the learning stage, they may need to create more intentional ways for beginners to practice, review AI-generated work, solve real problems, and learn directly from experienced people.
AI can make the work faster, but it doesn’t automatically create experienced professionals. The real challenge may be figuring out how people build that experience when the traditional path to learning is increasingly automated.
If you craft poor prompts, you'll end up with poor results. AI really shines when you know how to use it effectively. Think of it just like any other tool, a word processor or design software. it's only as good as the person wielding it.
tbh the stack matters way less than people think. python vs typescript, crewai vs langgraph, these debates are mostly noise early on.the hard part is the infrastructure around your agent. in-memory state works locally but breaks when the task crashes mid-run. most clouds will kill your container if a task runs too long or sits idle, so your agent dies halfway with no way to resume. deploy something broken with no rollback and you're in trouble. and you have no idea why your agent did something wrong because you never set up observability.most tutorials skip all of this tho because it's not sexy. start with whatever framework, just don't wait until you're in prod to think about the layer around it.
Yeah, this is a real concern. If AI takes over all the beginner tasks, where do people get the hands-on experience to build good judgment?Those simple tasks weren’t just busywork.
